The Fairfield County Economic and Workforce Development Department is accepting applications for a Workforce Fiscal and Administrative Specialist who will support the county’s economic and workforce development efforts through budgeting and financial planning efforts. The successful candidate will:

•Engage in budgeting, fiscal planning and local grant administration of Area 20/21 Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act funds.
•With the assistance of its subgrantees, maintain and administer the accounting system of record for the Area 20/21 Workforce Development Board (WDB), including tracking and projections of expenditures.
•Conduct financial oversight and monitoring for all WIOA and non-WIOA grants and participate in all fiscal monitoring and audits of the Area 20/21 WDB and its subgrantees.
•Develop local policy manuals and procedures including, but not limited to, fiscal policies relative to procurement, auditing, fiscal monitoring, memos of understanding and overall fiscal administration.
•Assemble employment data for the region to assist local economic development departments with workforce statistics and to assist the WDB in setting priorities and policies.

Qualifications:

·Associate’s degree in business, accounting or related field, bachelor’s degree preferred
·2 years professional experience with a business or government office preferred
·Experience with budgeting preferred

Fairfield County offers an excellent benefits package and participates in OPERS. The starting rate of pay for the position is $18.16 per hour.
